
OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha community is mourning after a 25-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run crash Wednesday morning, and police are searching for the driver who fled the scene.
The victim has been identified as Matthew Siles.
The Fatal Crash
According to Omaha police, the crash occurred at the intersection of 43rd and Cuming Street on Wednesday morning, December 17.
Authorities confirm Siles was crossing northbound near 43rd Street when he was struck by a Tesla that was traveling eastbound in the center lane.
Driver Flees, Vehicle Recovered
After the collision, the driver of the Tesla fled the scene, heading eastbound. The vehicle was later located near 37th and Dodge Street, but the driver remains at large.
Emergency personnel from the Omaha Fire Department responded and transported Siles to Nebraska Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators are actively reviewing the circumstances of the crash to locate the responsible driver.
