One parent, whose path first crossed with Henderson in March 2018 when he coached her son, shared a deeply personal tribute. “He gave so much of himself to every child he coached,” she said. “I will forever be grateful that our paths crossed. I will cherish every memory and all the time we were blessed to share—our Saturdays full of football watching and when he would make me pork chops.”
Above all, friends and family emphasize that Henderson’s greatest loves were his family and his unwavering faith in God. While there is solace in the belief that “he is healed and resting in heaven,” those close to him acknowledge that this does not ease the weight of his absence.
