Sylvania Community Mourns Loss of Devoted Father Joshua Scott Wend
SYLVANIA, Ohio — The Sylvania community is mourning the loss of Joshua Scott “Josh” Wend, a devoted family man whose life centered around his wife and seven children. Wend, 47, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at ProMedica Flower Hospital.

Born in Toledo on December 23, 1978, Josh Wend was remembered by his family as a man whose greatest joy was found at home. He was a passionate participant in his children’s lives, often playing sports with them, watching Formula 1 Racing with his wife, Amanda, and sharing his love of music with the entire family.

“More than anything Josh loved his family,” a family statement read. “He was happiest when they were all together.”

Wend is survived by his loving wife of over 22 years, Amanda (Duly) Wend; their seven children: daughters Makayla, Sage, and Amalyn Wend, and sons Josh II, Noah, Eli, and Malachi Wend. He also leaves behind his mother, Diane Wend-Welch; his father, James Wend (Janet); and his brothers, James II (Lindsay) and Joe (April) Wend.

Funeral Arrangements
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects and celebrate Josh Wend’s life.

Visitation: Wednesday, January 14, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Funeral Service: Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at 1:00 p.m.

Location: Both the visitation and service will be held at Five Lakes Church, McCord Road Campus.

Officiant: Pastor Micah Sutton.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that those wishing to offer memorials consider tributes made directly to the family to support his wife and children during this difficult time.
