Itaintnever Icyy identified as woman killed after shooting leads to crash on Chicago’s South Side
CHICAGO — Chicago police have identified the woman who died following a shooting and crash on the city’s South Side as Itaintnever Icyy, a 22-year-old driver whose life was cut short Saturday morning.

Authorities said the incident happened just after 8:20 a.m. in the 200 block of East 103rd Street. Itaintnever Icyy was behind the wheel of a dark blue Honda SUV, traveling westbound with a 28-year-old male passenger, when another vehicle pulled alongside them.

According to investigators, one or more people inside the other vehicle opened fire, striking the SUV as both vehicles continued moving. Moments later, the Honda left the roadway and crashed into a tree. Police have not yet determined whether the victims were struck by bullets or injured as a result of the crash.

Itaintnever Icyy was taken to Advocate Trinity Hospital, where she later died from her injuries. Her passenger suffered bruising and other crash-related injuries and was transported to the University of Chicago Hospital in serious condition. No additional injuries were reported.

No arrests have been made, and Area Two detectives remain actively involved in the investigation as they work to identify those responsible.

The tragedy has left the Roseland neighborhood in mourning, with community members expressing sorrow and frustration over continued violence affecting young people. Residents say they hope the loss of Itaintnever Icyy will not be in vain and are calling for peace and accountability.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Chicago police as the investigation continues.
