The Milford and Grand Blanc communities are grieving the heartbreaking and senseless death of Peyton Bilbia, 26, who was tragically killed on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, in his apartment. His passing has left family, friends, and neighbors devastated.
Born on March 7, 1999, in Pontiac, Michigan, Peyton was the beloved son of Mathew and Abbie Bilbia. A 2017 graduate of Holly High School, he went on to study at the University of Michigan Flint, always eager to learn and embrace new opportunities. Earlier this year, he moved to Milford, excited to start a new chapter in his life and pursue independence.
Peyton worked at D.E. McNabb Flooring in New Hudson, where colleagues admired his dedication and strong work ethic. Outside of work, he was known for his vibrant personality, love of mountain biking, fitness, movies, music, and supporting University of Michigan football. Friends and family fondly recall his humor, kindness, and ability to bring joy to everyone around him.
He is survived by his parents, Mathew and Abbie Bilbia; sisters Makayla and Ella Bilbia; grandparents Craig and Deborah Lahr and Karen and Kevin Kasper; several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Craig Bilbia.
In a statement, his family shared, “My kind, handsome boy is no longer on this Earth. He was robbed of his life way too young… Not long after, he was murdered on New Year’s Eve while he slept. My world is shattered, and nothing will ever be the same.”
Peyton Bilbia will be remembered as a devoted son, loving brother, loyal friend, and kind soul whose energy, laughter, and love for life left a lasting impression on all who knew him. The community continues to mourn his loss and honor the memory of a young life taken far too soon.
