TUNKHANNOCK TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Two men from Pennsylvania were killed in a single-vehicle crash Monday along Interstate 80 in Monroe County, officials confirmed.
The Monroe County Coroner’s Office identified the victims as Adam Lander, 25, of Cranberry, and Nathaniel Durell, 32, of Franklin. According to officials, both men were ejected from a truck that left the highway and struck a tree.
Sequence of the Crash
The crash occurred around 10:30 a.m. near mile marker 290 in Tunkhannock Township. A Pennsylvania State Police news release states the vehicle was traveling eastbound when it left the roadway, traveled down an embankment, and collided with a tree.
Official Findings and Investigation
Emergency personnel pronounced both men dead at the scene. The coroner’s office determined the cause of death for both victims was blunt-force trauma and ruled their deaths accidental.
State police from the Fern Ridge Barracks are leading the ongoing investigation into the crash. The investigation will work to determine the specific factors that led the vehicle to leave the roadway.
