What began as the first day of a new year quickly turned into a moment of heartbreak for families across northern France. On Jan. 1, 2026, Alexis Letard died suddenly in Lille at the age of 34, a loss that has rippled through his hometown of Lecelles and far beyond, leaving loved ones struggling to comprehend the sudden absence of a man deeply woven into their lives.
Born and raised in the Nord region, Alexis was known for his sincerity, loyalty and the strong bonds he built with those around him. Family and friends recall a man whose presence brought warmth and reassurance, someone who valued togetherness and remained deeply committed to the people he loved.
He was the cherished son of Alain and Valérie Létard-Decourrière, a devoted brother to Rémi, and a loving partner to Oriane Wyon, who shared both everyday moments and life’s milestones with him. His passing has left an immense void not only within his immediate family, but also among grandparents, cousins and a wide circle of friends who counted on his steady presence.
Those who knew Alexis describe him as someone with an easy sense of humor and a genuine kindness that made others feel at ease. Whether at family gatherings or community events, he was remembered for his attentiveness and his ability to connect naturally with people from all walks of life.
A funeral service honoring Alexis’s life will take place on Jan. 8, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. at Église Saint-Denis in Lecelles, followed by burial in the local cemetery.
As family and friends gather to say goodbye, they are also holding close the memories of laughter, affection and shared experiences that defined Alexis’s life.
