Northmor, OH – The Northmor Local School District and surrounding community are grieving the sudden and heartbreaking loss of Bobby Singh, a 14-year-old freshman at Northmor High School, who died in a car accident on Wednesday, January 1, 2026.
The crash occurred around 2:53 p.m. on Morrow County Road 59 in Congress Township. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a 1999 Ford Ranger traveling eastbound left the roadway and collided with a tree. Bobby, who was a passenger, was pronounced dead at the scene by Morrow County EMS. The driver, 16-year-old Landon Bishop, a junior at Northmor High School, was seriously injured and transported to OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital, where he remains under care. Authorities confirmed that both teens were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.
Bobby was remembered as a bright and promising young student whose life was just beginning. Friends, classmates, and teachers have expressed deep sorrow over his passing, emphasizing his kind spirit, smile, and the connections he made in his short life.
In a message to district families, Superintendent Chad Redmon offered condolences, stating, “Our hearts are heavy as we grieve the loss of Bobby. We are committed to supporting our students and staff through counseling, grief services, and compassionate care as we navigate this tragedy together.”
