PEORIA, Ill. – The Peoria-area community is grieving the sudden and tragic loss of Cole Patrick Thierer, a 22-year-old Dunlap resident who died following a fatal accident while visiting Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

The Tragic Incident

According to information shared with his family, Thierer was visiting the popular resort destination when an unexpected accident occurred last week. Local authorities in Mexico have not released additional details regarding the circumstances. His family is currently working through the difficult process of returning him home.

Remembering a Young Entrepreneur and Family Man

Cole Thierer is being remembered by friends and family as a warm, humorous, and genuinely kind young man who made others feel valued. Born March 15, 2003, he was the son of Jeff and Mindi (Meyer) Thierer.

At just 18 years old, he founded his own company, pursuing entrepreneurial goals with determination. He was also passionate about politics and known for his loyalty and dependability. Family was central to his life, and he maintained close daily connections with his parents and siblings, Talen and Ella.

He is also survived by his longtime girlfriend, Anastasia, his grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

Visitation and Services Announced

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 19, at Wright and Salmon Mortuary in Peoria.

A memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 20, at St. Jude Catholic Church, with visitation one hour prior. Following the Mass, the family invites attendees to a celebration of Cole’s life at Mt. Hawley Country Club.
