
FAUQUIER COUNTY, Va. – An 18-year-old Remington man died Sunday night after being ejected from a vehicle during a single-vehicle crash on an icy road in Fauquier County.
The victim has been identified as Brayan A. Espinoza Martinez.
Details of the Crash
According to the Virginia State Police, the crash occurred around 9:36 p.m. on Sunday, December 14, on Freemans Ford Road.
A 2016 Ford Fiesta, driven by 20-year-old Kevin E. Espinoza Martinez of Remington, reportedly encountered icy road conditions, causing the driver to lose control. The vehicle spun, left the roadway, entered a field, struck a ditch, and overturned.
Authorities confirmed that Brayan Martinez was ejected from the vehicle and was not wearing a seatbelt. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Driver Injured, Charges Pending
The driver, Kevin Martinez, sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Virginia State Police have indicated that charges are pending as the investigation remains ongoing.
