CLINTON, N.C. — A somber silence has fallen over Clinton High School after the tragic death of 18-year-old senior Julius Robinson, a standout varsity athlete, whose passing on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, is being treated as an apparent suicide. The sudden loss of the student known for his determination and positive spirit has left teammates, classmates, and the wider community heartbroken.

Julius, a member of the Class of 2026, was a dual-sport athlete who wore #20 as an outside linebacker for the Clinton Dark Horses football team and #23 on the basketball court. He was remembered by peers for his talent, kindness, and loving spirit.

“On December 17, 2025, Julius Nasir Robinson went home to become our GUARDIAN ANGEL at 5:10 pm,” Murphy wrote. “I won’t be mad but I’m for sure going to miss you son. I got your siblings, I give you my word.”
